Bahareh Khomeiry

My name is Bahareh, and I am grateful to be joining 318 as a ceramic artist. With a background in architecture and ceramics (BA in Architecture, BA and MA in Ceramics), my practice is strongly influenced by construction, structure, and balance—often building forms layer by layer, inspired by Persian domes. I work across hand-building, throwing, and tile-making, using clay as a way to translate emotion and lived experience into form. My work has evolved from architectural tiles to sculptural ceramics responding to social and political contexts. My recent project, Hair as Freedom: Cut Plaits, was selected as one of the four winning works at the British Ceramics Biennial 2025. At 318, I am developing new work for Ceramic Art London 2026 and preparing experimental work for my upcoming residency at Guldagergaard International Ceramic Research Center in Denmark.
