We are pleased to welcome Gaby Mlynarczyk to 318 to guide us through her special skills and expertise throwing tall narrow bottle necks.
Mastering the long necked bottle form Gabby will take you step by step through the process of creating elegant long necked forms on the wheel.
Students will learn how to take clay from one extreme to another by bellying out and choking in, they will be guided through methods of supporting the bottle neck and throwing with slip instead of water. Bottles when complete will be wet trimmed. Students will be allowed to keep 1 piece to be bisque and glaze fired.
All materials will be supplied.
Gaby is currently Ceramic artist in residence at the University for the Creative Arts, Farnham, where her work focuses on regenerative systems for ceramic practice as well as sustainable materials research and alternative forms of firing.

Gabby has taught wheel throwing and hand building classes since the 1990’s in New York, Los Angeles and now London. She is a recent graduate of the MA Ceramics and Glass program at the Royal College of Art and has been awarded the Charlotte Fraser prize for excellence as well as shortlisted for the 2024 Hyundai awards for sustainability in aesthetics and craft.
