frequently asked questions
We hope we have covered the answers to any questions you may have below, or elsewhere on our website. If not, please contact us using the form below and we'll try to help.

What is the maximum number you can take in a scheduled workshop or class?
We usually restrict numbers to 10 adults or 8 children. This is not only due to space limitations, but also to keep the classes friendly and to maximise the one-to-one time with the tutors and assistants.

Do I need to bring anything?
Generally, unless otherwise stated, all materials and equipment are supplied, however you may wish to bring your own tools, aprons etc. Please note that there is no space available for storing personal equipment outside of class times. You may also wish to bring items that inspire you.

If you are unsure about anything, please discuss with your tutor who will be able to advise you.

Are your workshops, courses and classes suitable for children?
All children's activities are highlighted in the title, along with age ranges. We keep classes roughly in the same age ranges as schools to be able to provide the right level of tuition.

Adult classes, workshops etc are aimed at those who are 16+

Where do the workshops, courses and classes take place?
All our programme of events take place at 318 Ceramics at Farnham Pottery (see contact Us for a map). Our workshops, and indeed the Farnham Pottery as a whole, is an incredibly inspiring space.
Occasionally we will work with partners to deliver specific elements of our courses off site, for example at the University for Creative Arts in Farnham. If this should be the case, it will be made clear in the course outline on our programmes page.

Requests for workshops, courses, classes, master classes and master days etc
If there is something you would particularly like to see covered that is not currently on our programme, please do let us know! We can't make any promises, but all your feedback will help us create an even better programme delivery.

Food and drink
The Central part of the pottery runs a pop up cafĂ©  Tuesdays to Saturday 9am-4pm serving coffees and light lunches.

There are two pubs within walking distance from the Farnham Pottery, one Indian restaurant and a small newsagents about a 10 minute walk away.

How do I book?
All our course bookings are done online. Please browse our programmes page for our course listings. This will take you to a full description of the workshop including timings, tutors and any additional information you may require.  When you are ready to book, click on the 'book it now' button and you will be taken to the secure payments page.  Although we use the PayPal service for our bookings, it is not necessary for you to have a PayPal account to book online.

If you are unable to book online, please contact us and we can log onto the site for you and take payment over the telephone. Please note that we don't currently have a landline telephone.

Can I turn up on the day of a course?
Regretfully, no.  All of our scheduled programmes listings are bookable in advance only and we will not be able to accommodate you if you were to turn up unexpectedly and we respectfully ask you do not put our tutors in that position. We will hold a waiting list for our programme should a space become available you will be contacted and offered a place. This will be done on a first come first serve basis.

We will be listing our community and social events which are not pre-bookable and are welcome to all to attend.
